Located on the Karikari peninsula in Northland, Carrington Resort is set in the middle of the Carrington Farms Estate - a 3000 acre ecologically planned property of secluded virgin beaches and restored natural wetlands. Carrington is located in the warmest area of New Zealand, closest to the equator, with moderate weather patterns similar to the Southern coastal areas of California

The Carrington golf course is attractive to players of varying skill levels while
presenting a challenge to tournament golfers
Designed by Matt Dye, considered to be a leading member of the new generation American golf course designers, and a third generation member of one of the best known families of golf designers in the world.
The unique 100 acres of seaside layout meanders around the central resort complex, and its oversized layout allowed for the extensive natural conservation areas within the golf course.

- Carrington Farms and the Ecosystem -

The objective of Carrington Farms was to restore a vast area of wetlands that had been lost due to inappropriate manmade drainage.
When Carrington Farms first bought the property in 1995, the existing wetland was approx 50 acres (9% of what it is today)
Carrington Farms implemented a program to help re-establish indigenous plants & trees.
To date Carrington has planted over 10,000 native plants & trees
